River of Tears, 2021

This illustration was inspired by the devastating floods that struck Belgium in the summer of 2021. While vast areas of Wallonia were submerged and people saw their homes destroyed by water, I was on holiday in Spain, confined to my room for a 10-day isolation due to Covid. My frustrations about being stuck in a room — with a view of the Mediterranean — suddenly felt so trivial and hollow.

Europe running dry, 2022

One year later, Europe was running dry, with France experiencing particularly harsh conditions. That summer, we spent our Holiday in the Alps and the Lac de Serre-Ponçon, where the water level had decreased by 13 meters. With such extreme summer events, who can still say that climate change is a myth?
